Due to fire liability issues the Jay County Solid Waste Management District has permanently stopped all household battery recycling. All off site battery recycling containers have been removed and will not be replaced. Please hold all of your batteries at this time until our Annual Tox Away Day. Please tape all battery metal contacts as not to make contact with any other metal surface. You may use any type of non-paper tape such as electrical tape or just clear scotch tape. We know this is going to be a challenge but this is a guideline we must follow in order to safely accept batteries during the event.
